Messages from the Mayor
March 10, 2021
As we have crossed the one year milestone of the COVID19 pandemic, we all wonder when will this all end. Virtually all of us have never experienced this widespread disease phenomena and it has truly tested everyone's patience and resolve. Although vaccines have been released, the vaccination rollout has been slower than we hoped, and we are all looking forward to increased shipments and clinic availability. Check the health department website for the latest information about vaccination clinics. Also, I want to urge anyone with food supply insecurity to feel free to reach out to the Princeton Elks as they have established a new food bank that is in addition to the Otto Kaufman Center food bank. Finally now that spring is upon us, I want to encourage everyone to enjoy the milder weather outdoors. Again, please continue to follow the important guidance from our health department, the state and the CDC including continued use of a mask.
December 30, 2020:
We are deeply saddened that the Health Department has reported Rocky Hill's first fatality due to COVID-19. On behalf of the entire Borough, we express our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the resident who was lost. Our hearts go out to the individual's family, and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time of grief. Our community is strong, and we are proud of your efforts and perseverance during this public health emergency. Together we will get through this difficult time. Please continue to safeguard your health and the well-being of your family, and continue to follow the important guidance from our Health Department and the CDC.
Rocky Hill Borough is taking proactive steps to reduce the impact of COVID-19 in our community by following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control, the State of New Jersey, and the County of Somerset. This may require that some of the municipal operations and governing functions will need to be abbreviated, modified, or possibly cancelled. The health and welfare of our community is paramount, and we appreciate everyone's understanding during this time of public health emergency.
